Job Summary

The Director of VA Relations will spearhead Cornerstone’s efforts to build, strengthen, and sustain partnerships with the Department of Veterans Affairs. This role is critical in driving revenue growth, ensuring compliance, and providing strategic support to Operating Directors. The Director will act as a national liaison to VA personnel, champion veterans’ care, and ensure Cornerstone offices are equipped to navigate VA processes, compliance standards, and referral pathways with excellence.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Serve as Cornerstone’s national liaison with the VA, building and strengthening partnerships that drive referrals and collaboration.
  • Coach Operating Directors on developing VA relationships, implementing growth strategies, and maintaining accountability.
  • Advocate for veterans to ensure clients receive appropriate care and hours through the VA system.
  • Ensure compliance with VA requirements, including billing accuracy, caregiver documentation, HSRM processes, and RN standards.
  • Develop and share best practices on VA programs, processes, and relationship strategies across all offices.
  • Host trainings, prep calls, and office hours to support Operating Directors on VA compliance and marketing efforts.
  • Provide virtual support for remote offices, including assessments, documentation oversight, and client communication.

Required Skills

  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to influence and coach field leaders.
  • Deep understanding of VA referral pathways, compliance standards, and program
  • requirements.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate insights into clear action plans.
  • Skilled communicator with strong presentation and training abilities.
  • Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities with autonomy.
  • Comfort with technology and data systems, including CRMs and reporting tools.
  • Experience in healthcare operations, home care, or hospice strongly preferred.
